This story took place the night before the verdict on the gigantic tax and currency evasions attributed to Reksten. A Bergen family, who had been benefiting from Reksten's acquaintance, was on the verge of breakdown. I set the story in a basement mansion, where all their secrets are hidden, and Nattmannen (the night man) plays the enigmatic role of God (or Devil).

The scenography had a creepy atmosphere, filled with secret elements that allowed Nattmannen to watch over the family and dispose of their hidden secrets in fantastical spectacles. This eerie setting emphasized the tension and impending crisis, creating a chilling backdrop for the unfolding drama.
