In designing Sørsiden, I placed the family in a metaphorical, almost existential setting, reminiscent of being on a deserted island. Here, everyday objects appear old and overgrown (oversized) to play with our emotional perception of life. Mundane items are depicted as larger than life, transforming daily rituals into bizarre and incomprehensible scenes. How the actors interact with these exaggerated objects reveals their unique ways of coping with life, providing a window into their emotions and experiences.
