This play depicts a family staying at a seaside cottage, but I placed the family in a metaphorical, almost existential place where it reminds us of being on a deserted island. Here, everyday objects appear old and overgrown and oversized to play with our emotional perception of life. Mundane items are depicted as larger than life, transforming daily rituals into bizarre and incomprehensible scenes. How the actors interact with these exaggerated objects reveals their unique ways of coping with life, providing a window into their emotions and experiences.
